Clothing

Clothing for corporate portraits should suit your objectives, in terms of formality required and that one should consider consistency when photography of a group of people.

High contrast combinations, such as a dark jacket, white shirt, and bold accessories work well. Clothing should be freshly ironed. Pastels and busy patterns are best avoided. Bold block colours always work well, but most importantly be yourself.

Hair & Makeup Artists

For women, we recommend freshly styled hair. For men, we recommend a haircut and freshly shaven.

Makeup is important to consider, and most women are quite adept at applying makeup that best suits them. However, you may choose to have professional makeup applied for the shoot. We have a team of professional makeup artists who can come out to your office or to our studio you can apply your makeup.

On-Site Requirements

If we are coming to your office, we will require a medium-sized room. We often shoot in boardrooms and can shoot across the top of a boardroom table if the room is tight in space. Best to check with us to make sure you have a suitable space for the shoot to happen at your office.

Proofing & Image Selection

After the shoot, we will provide a proof copy of the images (low resolution) so that you can select the final photographs. Once we receive your selection, we will take a day to finalise and return the images electronically for downloading.

We would like to know your expectations and a visual example is always helpful.

Retouching Corporate Portraits

We retouch all corporate portraits to slightly improve the final photograph. Portraits often need finalising example of retouching include whitening of the eyes and teeth, blemish removal and generally retouching for a polished and professional result.

What colour is best to wear for headshots?

For headshots, we recommend wearing a colour that is either light (think pastel), block colours, or muted (grey, navy, etc), and accenting it with a statement necklace, sweater, or blazer. Avoid large patterns or multi-coloured tops that steal attention from your gorgeous smile.

Should you smile in a professional headshot?

Most people know whether they smile with their teeth or not. Even for professional headshots, smiling both with and without your teeth work, so smile whichever way you feel most comfortable.

Is a professional headshot worth it?

Having a professional headshot helps boost your confidence as well as the confidence others have in your professional abilities. You'll take yourself seriously and others will, too.
